Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) has granted us a £3,000 funding boost to help us get through the Covid-19 crisis.
The CAF funding will help with our running costs as we face a very challenging time ahead. Every year we help between 15 and 20 North Devon families faced with the unimaginable challenge of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Many families struggle to meet the costs of visiting specialist hospital appointments in Bristol, Exeter or London. Care for Kids provides each family with an £800 grant. This helps pay for travel, living costs and loss of earnings. We are entirely self-funded and rely §on donations, fundraising and events.
Charity founder and trustee, Jacky Massos, says: “The last few months have been very worrying and this grant from CAF will help to relieve some of that pressure. We’ve had to adapt and find new ways to fundraise during lockdown. Thankfully people have been really generous and supportive. But new families keep coming forward for our help, so we have to continue with our efforts. Please help us by supporting our virtual events or take on a fundraising challenge for us. Share our story on social media or simply donate to our emergency appeal. Everything helps. Donate, share and show you care.”
