A massive cash boost is coming our way towards our cubicle 4 fundraising campaign.

The Morrisons Foundation is donating £16,000 to our charity to fund the refurbishment of cubicle 4 at Caroline Thorpe ward. Now we can transform this bedroom and make it more comfortable for children who spend longer periods on the ward.

Meanwhile, North Devon and Torridge District councillors have both given funds towards the campaign. In addition, local supporters have also been fundraising for us. Therefore, we will use these funds to provide extras in the room to entertain the children who use it. This will include new wall-mounted smart TVs, games console and digital art on the walls.

“When I shared the news with our other trustees one of them was in tears. It’s a massive boost for our fundraising campaign, and we are so pleased to be able to make a start on the project this spring. Thousands of children use the Caroline Thorpe ward every year, many of whom will spend time in Cubicle 4. It will make a big difference to their experience on the ward, at what can be a very frightening time for them and their families.”

Jacky Massos, Founder of Care for Kids North Devon

“I’m really pleased that we were able to help such a great charity.  Our support will make a genuine difference to children receiving treatment and their families, knowing that really does make me proud. The Foundation is all about helping local families and I’m so happy that we can provide this grant.”

Adrian Horsley, Morrisons Foundation Advisor from the supermarket’s Head Office
