Last week 129 runners took to the streets of North Devon and beyond for our virtual 10k!
The virtual event replaced our annual Barnstaple 10km race, which normally attracts about 400 runners and raises up to £8,000. Local runners helped us raise just over £1,120. This will help us to continue providing financial support to the families of children with life threatening illnesses.
10k results
Simon Scotthorne was the fastest finisher, with a time of 39:58. Ashley Jewell took second place at 40:20. The fastest female was India Cook from Team Hot Cross Run, who finished with a time of 48:17. She was closely followed by Vicci Greenaway, who completed the race in 48:51.
Team Marrow won the title for fastest team and Fremington Trailblazers were crowned the biggest team. Thanks to all the teams who took part, including Hot Cross Run, Just Jog Bideford, Team Torridge and Vegan Titans.

Thank you
Charity Manager Jacky Massos says: “Cancelling our usual Barnstaple 10k event was a big blow to us, especially in terms of fundraising. However, our virtual 10k was a brilliant success and we have been blown away by the support of our local running community. We also had support from runners as far away as Bristol, Cornwall and Reading. I would like to congratulate everyone for the effort they made on Sunday – your medals are on their way to you! All the money raised will be ploughed back in to our small charity, and will make a massive difference to local families in North Devon who are facing very difficult times.”
Finally, thanks to event sponsors Brewer Harding & Rowe solicitors and primary sponsor Advanced Pallet Systems Limited.
