Barnstaple 10k race update

Results 2019

We’ve sent out the final instructions to everyone who has entered our Barnstaple 10k and the great news is, our race is full!

Here’s a copy of all the information we’ve sent to your inbox:

Thank you for supporting the Barnstaple 10k 2019, all profits will go to Care for Kids North Devon to help local families who have children with life threatening illnesses. We also support the Children’s ward at NDDH and are currently working toward refurbishing another isolation treatment room (Cubicle 4). Last year we refurbished Cubicle 5 and the positive feedback on the difference it has made to families using this space, has inspired the charity to fundraise towards refurbishing Cubicle 4. The aim is to manage the delivery of cubicle 4 in Spring 2020.

Once again, we have been blown away with the support of so many runners signing up to the Barnstaple 10k and raising funds for us, thank you all!

Cake!

We will have a coffee, tea and cake stall on the day. If anyone can bake cakes or donate a cake that would be brilliant, just bring it along on the morning. We raised over £400 on our cake stall last year, thanks to the amazing cakes that were brought along.

Registration

Registration opens at 8.45 am in the school canteen hall.  At registration you will receive your race number, timing chip and *running top. As stated after the re-opening of the race, no more running tops are now available. There may be some shirts left over, ask a member of the Care for Kids team after the race. Parking is at the Park and Ride, we recommend car sharing if possible.

The race will start promptly at 10am. Dogs are permitted in the school grounds and it is a no smoking zone.

Plastic free zone

We are trying hard to make our event as plastic free as possible and won’t be using single use plastic such as water bottles. Therefore, we’re encouraging runners to bring their own bottles. Water will be available at the start, the 5K water station and the finish. We have purchased bio-degradable cups which will be available with a supply of water for those who need it.

*(for those who entered by 16th June)

The route

We’ve had to make a slight diversion as Devon County Council has closed the swing bridge by the Civic Centre. We will have plenty of marshals to show you the way. Take a look at the full route online: ROUTE LINK
